About Us
SJ · SK Wing Chun Heritage
The Guangzhou Sum Jee Wing Chun Association carries forward the teachings of Grandmaster Sum Jee and Master Sum King, adapting to the needs of a new era through digital preservation and modern archival methods. Centered on the two generations of “Sum Jee · Sum King,” this platform aims to document, organize, and share the Wing Chun of the Sum Nung lineage, ensuring its transmission across regions and generations.
About the Guangzhou Sum Jee Wing Chun Association
Founded in 2002, the Guangzhou Sum Jee Wing Chun Association is dedicated to promoting authentic Guangzhou Wing Chun and preserving the martial heritage of Grandmaster Sum Jee. Over the years, the lineage has spread across Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and overseas, with practitioners in Vancouver, New York, Sydney, and other cities—allowing the Sum Jee branch to continue growing worldwide.
Our Mission
The Association is committed to preserving the techniques and spirit of authentic Guangzhou Wing Chun, passing on the martial culture of Grandmaster Sum Jee through a traditional, disciplined, and lineage‑based approach. As the digital era evolves, we actively promote online and systematic preservation efforts. Through the “SJ · SK Wing Chun Heritage” platform, we aim to ensure that the wisdom and spirit of Wing Chun can be shared more widely and endure for generations to come.
Teaching Philosophy & Method
Our training follows traditional Wing Chun methods, beginning with strong fundamentals and progressing step by step:
- Fundamental structure and conditioning
- Forms training: Siu Nim Tau (小練頭), Cham Kiu (沉橋), Biu Jee (標指)
- Chi Sau (黐手) training
- Advanced martial concepts and application
When students reach a certain level, they undergo evaluation by the teacher—including character assessment—before formally becoming disciples and entering the traditional master‑student relationship.
